Comorbid Clashes Between Both Conditions

Here are some comorbid symtoms that can be conflicting in the neurodiverse mind. Comorbidity is when two or more psychological (or other health symtoms,) show in the same person.

ASD-

      Extreme interest in one topic

          Need for routine

    Everything in its place

         Obsessive with current special interest

         Thinking outside the box

Hyper focus

ADHD-

Having a short attention span and being easily distracted

Making careless mistakes

Being unable to stick to tasks that are tedious or time-consuming

Constantly changing activity or task

  Having difficulty organising tasks

It seems that ASD traits such as interests in one subject or current special interest and hyper focus could potentially clash with most ADHD traits, such as short attention span, inability to stick to one task that may be tedious or boring. Constantly switching from one interest to another. These clashes can cause an inability to perform day to day tasks and stay focused when required.
